ABOUT THE TRACKSI'M JUST AN OLD MAN This could have been written by Victor Meldrew .. but I beat him to it. Why does the world seem to revolve around the antics of the young? Fair play for wrinklies !! I FOUND OUTThis Track was written in 1972 when I was with a Rhondda band called Eugene Carnan. It became our signature song and always went down a storm at gigs. Note the odd time drum figure in the chorus. I can still play this on a kit with no problem but it proved a bugger to program on this version WHO'S THAT KNOCKING"Who's that Knocking" - a bit of fun about being afraid to get back into a relationship after being alone for quite a while. DIAMONDS & DISAPPOINTMENTS"Diamonds & Disappointments" (aka Rainbow's End) - That's what life's all about. Fairly obvious what I'm trying to say. Listen to the words if the title doesnt give it away haha. It's got 2 titles because I had problem uploaded it to www.musolist.com under the other title as it clashes witrh another song wirh 'Diamond' in the title PRETTY IN PINK"Pretty In Pink" - pop song about the end of a relationship from the Dumpees point of view. UR DMPT"Ur Dmpt" - pop song about the end of a relationship from the Dumpers point a view - response to 'Pretty in Pink' I suppose.. OILSLICK ON YOUR DRIVEWAY'Oilslick on your Driveway" A True Story - and what happens when one doesn't take notice of the lessons of 'Who's that Knocking" NEVER DID FIND MY DREAM'Never Did Find My Dream" - started out as a simple accoustic riff which I had to find words for. I must credit Roger & Hammerstien, Gretchen Peters and Sandy Denny as lyric inspirations. Again I think the title reflects what the song's about. But I am not as depressing as the song makes me out to be haha Guitar solo inspired by Frank Zappa ( I am not worthy !!) I DRIVE MY OWN CARDrive my Own Car" - I wrote this in my head while I was a passenger in someone else's car. Pseud's Corner coming up- "when one has to find a metaphor for modern life the analogy with man's affair with the automobile is a opportunity that one cannot overlook."
